3D Comm – 3D Training and Education Workshop

Learn how to Buy, Spec or Sell 3D Solutions for Education and Training Applications

Insight Media will once again produce 3D Comm on June 12 in Orlando, Florida as part of InfoComm. This year, the focus will be on 3D in the Education (K-12 and higher education) and Training segments (CAD, design, modeling and analysis for oil and gas, medical, corporate, automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, etc.). To facilitate this theme, we will create a 3D education classroom in OCCC W414C and a 3D training room in OCCC W414D at the Orange County Convention Center. The goal is to provide a range of 3D hardware and software so attendees have a chance to get hands on experience with 3D in a real classroom or training environment.

These workshops are aimed at system integrators as well as end users (educators, teachers, industry). System integrators will attend to learn how to specify and successfully sell complete 3D solutions to the education or training market. End users will come to better understand how 3D can help to educate students or train specialized workers to perform their tasks better. They will also become a more educated buyer understanding what to look for in hardware, software and system integration to implement a successful program.

Each 3D classroom will include one or more 3D display solutions (projection system or flat panel 3D with 3D glasses), a 3D PC, 3D courses and curriculum, 3D interaction devices and more. Workshops will be offered in 4-hour sessions. We envision each four hour block offering the following structure:

· Hardware provider presentations

· Content provider presentations

· System integrator presentation – case study

· Educator/Trainer/End User presentation – case study

· Lots of play time & networking

Breaks and “play time” are part of the workshop to allow attendees to get hands on experience, talk to providers and network for additional education and business development. We will charge attendees a nominal fee to attend the 4-hour session ($99) to encourage good turnout.

We anticipate offering four 4-hour blocks on June 12 with different speakers and sponsors. More blocks can be added if there is sponsor interest and attendee pull.

Insight Media will organize, promote and facilitate the workshop, working with speakers, sponsors, media and InfoComm management.
