3D Content Marching Through 2011

The New Year has a slew of new possibilities for 3D. We’ve seen a lot of exciting announcements so far. VUDU recently announced plans to start streaming in 3D, HBO has 3D video on demand, and ESPN will continue to crank out certain 3D-worthy events. We’re also seeing the opportunity for more Blu-ray 3D in the home. Of course, Panasonic still has a tight hold on Avatar, and won’t be letting up until sometime in 2012. We don’t blame them.

In the meantime, however, this should be a banner year for the Blu-ray 3D format. Disney will deliver 15 of its current and classic movies on Blu-ray 3D—and they aren’t the only ones planning widespread releases. Here are eight films we can’t wait to enjoy in the eye-popping comfort of our own home.
