3D Entertainment News: Star Trek Into Darkness

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Shot in 3D with several scenes being shot in IMAX 3D, Star Trek Into Darkness will  preview the first 9 minutes of the film at the beginning of the Hobbit at over 500 digital IMAX 3D theaters beginning on December 14th.

But the mystery surrounding the details of the story and the villain, played by Benedict Cumber batch remains. The accepted rumor is that he will be Khan. But if he is Khan, does that mean he will get to destroy the beloved Enterprise? Will Spock die?

We may have some hints in the Japanese version of the newly released trailer.

Watch as we see an early similar pair of hands try to touch each other through glass. A hint or just a tease???

You’ll have to wait till May 17, 2013 to find out for sure.

  1. Just a quick correction, while Star Trek Into Darkness will indeed be released in 3D, it was not shot in 3D, it’s being converted, having been shot anamorphic on 35mm film, plus some scenes on 70mm 15perf IMAX film.
