3D Expo China Looks at Chinawood

Todd Cunningham of  TheWrap.com summed up the future of Hollywood and for 3D. For some this may be shocking But for most of us we’ve seen the trend coming for a long time.

There are several other factors involved in this. 3D in China is growing at an astronomical rate. The government has mandated that within four years 10 dedicated 3D channels will be broadcasting. To do that the Chinese are gobbling up 3D content as quickly as they can and Chinese production companies are making co-production deals with many 3D professionals and making 3D content on their own.

Digital domain has been purchased by a Chinese company and Chinese regulators have approved the sale of AMC theaters to a Chinese conglomerate. Chinese mobile Bruno  Wo  unveiled plans to build a massive production facility dubbed Chinawood.  With $1.27 billion to finance films and build the studio.

That sets the stage for 3D Expo China in Beijing December 18, 19 and 20.

Organized by the Chaoyang Museum of Urban Planning, the Beijing Film Academy and the Beijing Institute of Science and Technology Aesthetics This breakthrough event will bring film and TV professionals together from both Chinawood and  Hollywood.
