Blackmagic Design purchased Teranex recently and took their high end video processors and created two lower-cost units: one aimed at 2D broadcast video processing for about $2K and one capable of 3D conversion and 3D broadcast processing for $4K. The unit was demonstrated at CCW in New York by Dan May, President of Blackmagic Design Americas.

The Teranex processor isn’t justy for traditional broadcast networks either. Recently AdPro, a department of global media technology group Adstream, has deployed the Teranex 2D Processor to support delivery of finished commercials to broadcasters around the world. The processor will be used in conjunction with a workflow that also includes a Blackmagic Design Micro Videohub and a SmartView Duo rack mounted monitors.

AdPro has also created a studio workflow built around the Blackmagic Design Micro VideoHub. The 16×16 SD-HDI hub is a powerful broadcast grade routing switcher that lets AdPro eliminate complicated manual video patching and easily change connections from anywhere in the AdPro facility. Capture and playback is handled by two Apple iMacs running thunderbolt video I/O devices, with the Blackmagic Design Smartview Duo used to display the output.
