Fox Lands Hole in One With VR 360 at US Open

The list of networks leaping onto the 360 VR merry go round has just increased by one. Fox Sports Interactive Media has announced that they will be offering virtual reality coverage of certain portions of the US Open Golf Championship. Their partner in the venture is NextVR. Using Red Dragon cameras, NextVR is out to deliver a premium visual experience. Four holes of Multi-Camera coverage with immersive viewing of the tee boxes and the greens at Holes 9, 17 & 18. NextVR will employ roving coverage between Holes 10 and 12 with behind the scenes look at the Oakmont Country Club. A bonus will be a Live Look-in at Oakmont’s driving range, golf tips and special features on each hole.

The event will be free and hosted via the NextVR Portal. Using the GearVR Headset viewers will even be able to choose their own view or let NextVR control it.
