With just enough human drama to anchor the sweeping spectacle of giant monsters smashing everything in sight, Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla satisfyingly restores the franchise’s fire-breathing glory. — RottenTomatoes.com

Fortunately, the monsters are actually kind of a kick. And isn’t that why you go to see a movie like this anyway?– Washington Post

Edwards’ Godzilla dawdles toward its Doomsday climax; the movie could win a prize for Least Stuff Happening in the First Two-Thirds of an Action Film… It’s a concept lacking a magnetic story, a package without a product.– Time

This movie topped my former favorite film. (Godzilla vs. Destroyah) Anyone reading this, don’t be discouraged by all the poor user reviews. They all complain about “not enough Godzilla screen time,” or poor acting. After each bad review that I read, I looked at said reviewer’s OTHER reviews. I found “perfect ten” ratings on well known bad movies like R.I.P.D., or Battleship. Honestly, this movie was reviving the style of the 1954 original. It’s much more about the message than the “mediocre acting,” or the “boring plot.” (Which isn’t) Not only that, but if you’re not some neanderthal of a moviegoer, you will be enthralled by the plot, and the final battle puts movies like Pacific Rim to shame.– DiabeticRhino97
