MaeNak goes up against Ghost Rider

Two other worldly 3D movies find themselves competing against each other…one about a love that won’t die beyond death and the other, about a super hero that cheats the devil by fighting for good.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and the first 3D movie shot in Thailand, Mae Nak 3D, went head to head in theaters around Thailand. And while Ghost Rider may not be doing well at other places, here, it’s getting soundly beaten in the box office by Mae Nak 3D. The 3D Thai film is still showing here in Thailand and internationally — Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia.

The 3D treatment to the all-time ghost film of Thailand was made possible by our one and only, 3DGuy, Al Caudullo.

Below is Mae Nak 3D’s synopsis:

While her husband, “Mak”, is away at war, “Nak” his wife, who is heavily pregnant, dies with her stillborn child. When Mak returns, he continues living with Nak, unaware that the woman he is living with is actually a ghost. The story of Mae Nak Phrakhanong is one of Thailand’s most enduring ghost legends, and has been told from generation to generation, and this time told in 3D.
