We’ve always liked Optima’s 3D projectors and this newest model is a beautiful addition to any boardroom or Home Theater. Below is the press release with all the details. We are eagerly awaiting our demo unit and will give you a first hand review as soon as we can.

Optoma Launches EW631 Eco+ high brightness “Green” Widescreen Projector

London, 29th May 2012 – Aimed at the high-brightness boardroom and presentations environment, the Optoma EW631 is a native WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution projector delivering the latest in green technology advances to our desktop series.

Eco+ technology, exclusively from Optoma, increases our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment but works intelligently to not only reduce power consumption to as little as 30%, but also by increasing lamp life by up to 70% and thereby reducing costs. Head of Product Management Justin Halls commented. “The EW631 uses the latest software and hardware developments to intelligently project just the correct amount of brightness required. Not only is this technology good for the environment but over the lifetime of the EW631 could save you significant amounts of money.”

The new model benefits from class leading brightness of 3500 ANSI Lumens and is designed with corporate, widescreen video and presentations markets firmly in mind. The EW631 is also able to produce stunning 3D images at 120Hz in full colour, stereoscopic 3D. The EW631 is fully compatible with the innovative Optoma 3D-XL.

With a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and the inclusion of Texas Instruments BrilliantColor™ technology images are sharp and details and colours are always vibrant and lifelike. Indeed, so confident is Optoma of its picture quality that its unique guarantee of colour quality will remain as new for at least five years.

For installation within a networked environment the EW631 is fully compatible with both the Crestron RoomView® network control system and the AMX Dynamic Discovery Protocol which provide custom configurable interfaces for controlling and monitoring individual or multiple projectors.

The EW631 includes an extensive range of inputs and outputs such as dual VGA inputs (one of which accepts the Optoma optional wireless module), RS232 and audio in and out, the EW631 additionally has HDMI connectivity, audio-in and RJ45 networking inputs and provides for remote mouse via USB. Audio is fully catered for with powerful combined10W speaker too.

A security-bar and password protection is provided, making the EW631 an ideal projector for security conscious environments. A portable-carry bag is supplied as standard for transporting the projector.

Optoma projectors were in the forefront of moves to output less than 0.5W watt power consumption in standby mode, and Optoma continues to not only deliver reduced running costs, but we are reinforcing our commitment to “environmentally friendly” features such as timer control functions and fast shut-down and start-up.

The EW631 is available to buy from selected resellers from the beginning of June 2012.
