Amsterdam (Stand 1-H120), February 10, 2015: Sony is unveiling at ISE 2015 its latest range of AV products and solutions to expand its “Beyond Definition” theme. Sony is demonstrating how its innovative laser and 4K technologies are empowering users to connect with audiences, generating memorable experiences that inspire people to do more.

The world’s first 4K Ultra Short Throw laser projector, the new 7,000 lumens 3LCD Laser projector and the latest updates to the breakthrough presentation solution, Vision Presenter, are just some of the highlights visitors can experience first-hand.

Sony’s leading laser projection technology

For the first time in Europe, Sony is showcasing the world’s first 4K Ultra Short Throw laser light source projector, the VPL-GTZ1, designed for a range of B2B and commercial applications where high impact visuals are required, including museums, design simulation, signage, oil and gas, simulation and training, corporate, and video wall applications. Combining the latest in projection technology, namely 4K SXRD, laser light source and ultra-short throw capabilities, this state of the art device delivers a completely new immersive experience with superb picture quality and a low TCO for users thanks to an expected 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation without the need for a lamp exchange.

Sony 4K Projector Under $12,000!

The projector is capable of delivering 2,000 lumens colour brightness with superb contrast ratio, and can project high resolution images from 66 inches (1.7m) up to approximately 147 inches diagonally (3.7m) on any white surface from almost no distance. Its stylish, “blend-in” design fits nearly any installation environment, including a low fan noise to ensure users’ viewing experiences are not disrupted. This ultra-short throw capability allows users to stand closer to the screen when presenting and inspect detailed 4K imagery up close, without obstruction. In addition, for the ultimate presenting solution, users can blend multiple projectors for a larger image.

Sony is also showcasing the new VPL-FHZ700L – the world’s brightness 3LCD Laser projector* with 7,000 lumens of colour brightness – alongside the VPL-FHZ55, the world’s first 3LCD laser projector. Like the VPL-GTZ1 and Sony’s other laser projectors, they can deliver an expected 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation, which brings substantial TCO savings. With 100% brightness, no colour separation and no degradation of image, Sony 3LCD laser technology ensures the most vibrant and lasting images for immersive displays in a range of versatile applications. With instant on/off, tilt-angle-free design, edge blending, and wide range vertical/horizontal lens shift, the VPL-FHZ700L also offers integration flexibility with multiple interfaces and seven optional lenses.

Vision Presenter

Following last year’s launch of its intuitive presentation solution – Vision Presenter PWA-VP100 – Sony has evolved the solution to offer further benefits and flexibility, which is showcased live at ISE 2015. Vision Presenter 2.0 brings together all of your content to one screen, creating dynamic presentations controlled with the swipe of a finger. With HDCP support, Content Mirroring, improved connectivity and multiple display variations, Vision Presenter is the ultimate solution for users looking to collaborate and engage with audiences remotely as well as those present in the room, simultaneously. The Vision Presenter configuration demonstrated at ISE shows a triple screen projection solution with WUXGA and WXGA projectors, with video content coming from multiple source inputs and remote locations.

BRAVIA Professional Displays

Sony‘s innovative 4K leadership is demonstrated through its new range of professional BRAVIA monitors. Available in 55”, 65” and 85” screen sizes, the BRAVIA 4K LED Professional displays offer your business brighter, better-looking pictures, smart features and affordable running costs. No additional boxes or players are required – all include the benefits of HTML5 content creation with easy-to-use TDM Digital Signage software and advanced control features. With 4K models being inexpensive and more affordable than ever, the BRAVIA B2B displays are advanced, easy to use and versatile enough to easily match any corporate need.

These displays deliver high quality signage and presentations that are at the core of Sony’s emphasis on enabling customers to do more. As part of its focus on interactive signage, Sony is also showing how BRAVIA U-Touch technology allows retailers, universities, museums, businesses, libraries, financial institutions and more to engage customers at a more interactive level.

Video conferencing

Displayed at ISE, Sony’s newly debuted PCS-XC1 Video Conferencing System provides borderless, portable connectivity, allowing users to communicate beyond traditional presentation boundaries. The all-HD portable video conferencing device offers superb picture and sound quality and includes wireless capability, Exmor CMOS sensor, View-DR technology and is capable of resolutions up to 1080p 60fps. As a compact integrated unit, the portable PCS-XC1 is ideal for huddle rooms, conference rooms and office spaces of all sizes, meaning meetings can be held across multiple locations. Used in conjunction with PCS-MEP IPELA Communication Mobile application for smartphone and tablet, PCS-XC1 also provides a portable and cost-effective solution for SMBs, corporate, education and medical environments.

Simple integration with BRAVIA 4K and SRG cameras means Sony’s videoconferencing systems PCS-XG77H and PCS-XG100Hcan provide an easy all-Sony solution for any meeting room or boardroom.

The new PMW-PZ1 media player

Sony is launching for the first time in Europe the PMW-PZ1 4K stand-alone medial player. A simple, transportable 4K medial player, it is capable of playing a range of file formats and codecs generated with Sony Professional AV equipment, including XAVC, MPEG422 and more. Sony is showing it connected to a BRAVIA 4K display via HDMI cable for playback of 4K files. The PMW-PZ1 will be available from June 2015.

Live Event Production

Sony also is showcasing the newest features for its Anycast Touch AWS-750 at ISE. With no need for complex setup and operations, Anycast Touch is a portable live content producer that instantly makes live production easily accessible to anyone without any previous experience. With new flexible streaming options and the ability to control remote network cameras over IP networks, Anycast Touch reinforces its position as the complete AV portable production system. While attached to remote cameras from the SRG/BRC range, it can also automatically track the presenter or any moving object, and can be complemented by the efficient XDCAM cameras to pre-record and playback content or live inputs.

Optical Disc Archive

Long term digital storage of files is becoming a significant issue across many different industries. At ISE, Sony is exhibiting its Optical Disc Archive format, which is able to safely store and preserve high-value content for up far longer than external hard drives or LTO tape. Resistant to problems such as water damage, dust, magnets and mechanical reliability which typically effect tape and hard drives, ODA Media ensures that high-value content is safe. Because of this reliability, the long term total cost of ownership is far less than alternative archival standards in the market.

Beyond 4K Production

At the Sony stand’s ‘Immersive’ Zone, Sony is showing how its unique technologies can create images that go Beyond 4K. Three 4K SRX-T615 simulation projectors combined to deliver a 12K by 2K projection, which takes advantage of Sony’s superb edge blending technology. Using Sony’s top-end F65 motion picture camera, featuring a 8K CMOS sensor and the unique Super Resolution Demosaicing Technology (SRDM) workflow solution designed to generate the highest quality motion image from F65 raw data up to 8K x 4K, Sony is demonstrating how easy it is to create immersive images for venues, arenas or amusement parks by cutting out free resolutions and aspect ratios. More Sony products are integrated in the Immersive Zone at ISE to highlight Sony’s dedication to creating immersive experiences that defy traditional display boundaries.

“Sony’s passion for technology drives our market-leading AV Solutions. Our Sony offering helps end-users make content immersive, impactful and actionable,” said Damien Weissenburger, Business Head for Presentation & Communications at Sony Europe. “Our desire to help our customers extends beyond our quest for quality.
