Earlier this week Oculus announced that their next Oculus Venues live performance will feature 17-year-old pop megastar Billie Eilish, marking the first time the American singer-songwriter will perform remotely for a VR audience.

“It’s really nice to be able to have something that makes the show so accessible, and to have a platform to bring the live experience to people who haven’t been able to be at a show yet,” said Eilish during an interview with Billboard.

“I just want everyone to have a good time. That’s always my only goal, even when you’re watching the show at home.”

“’ Copycat’ is really fun. I make everybody get really low, and we all jump when the drop comes in. Even though you’ll be watching on a VR headset, you should still get low and jump with everyone.”

Organized alongside immersive-streaming company Supersphere, fans of the ‘Bad Guy’ and “come out and play” artist can log in to Oculus Venues via their Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear VR headsets on September 3rd at 6:30 pm PT to catch a live stream of her show in Madrid, Spain.

Using the Oculus Venues “solo-viewing” and “social-viewing” options, fans can enjoy the performance privately or dance alongside fellow attendees in a shared space.

Billie Eilish is just the latest major act to perform on the VR live event platform, following well-known musical acts such as Tenacious D, Vance Joy, Lupe Fiasco, Everclear, Chromeo, as well other forms of live entertainment, including comedy shows, movies, and sporting events.

Most recently, the platform hosted a live concert of Avicii’s latest studio album Tim, during which audience members were immersed in 360-degree visualizations of each track.

Oculus Venues is available free on Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear VR.
