Today’s Immersive VR Buzz: Vader Immortal Trilogy Free With Purchase Of Oculus Quest, Limited Time Only

This was a very interesting BUZZ that I found today and wanted to share with you.

From November 21st to January 31st, those who purchase an Oculus Quest headset will receive all three episodes of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series 100% free-of-charge.

Set on the infamous volcanic planet of Mustafar, Vader Immortal places you in the shoes of a seemingly-average smuggler who — under the guidance of Darth Vader, learns to wield a lightsaber and harness the awesome abilities of the Force.

Throughout Episodes I & II, players battle a variety of enemies, from Stormtroopers to ancient droid sentinels, as they attempt to escape the clutches of the feared Sith Lord before he can use their characters secret lineage to activate a terrifying weapon that could devastate the galaxy.

Along with the main campaign, there’s also the Lightsaber Dojo, an additional game mode that adds endless hours of replayability to the experience by allowing players to go toe-to-toe with endless waves of enemies.

Episode II doubled-down on the action by introducing new elements to the mix, such as Force abilities, new enemies, and a variety of unique environmental traps.

Set to release tomorrow, the third and final chapter of the series is shaping up to be the most action-packed episode so far. Based on a new trailer released this week shows, players will lead a large-scale battle against Imperial forces inside a massive hanger before going up against Vader himself in an epic final duel.

According to an interview with developer ILMxLAB, Lightsaber Dojo has also received new updates, including the ability to dual-wield lightsabers as well as new Force abilities, such as Force Lightning.

“We leaned heavily into the action on Episode II, and in Episode III we sustain that while incorporating even more storytelling as our greater three-episode story arc comes to its climax and conclusion,” said director Ben Snow during an interview with StarWars.com.

“This makes for a slightly longer episode, but there is a lot going on. In addition to the ancient lightsaber and Force powers that we’ve acquired in the previous episodes, you are able to grab and use blasters dropped by stormtroopers, fight air-to-air on skiffs, and start a battle in Vader’s castle between The Marching Horde droid army and the Imperial battalion stationed on Mustafar.”

Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series – Episode III launches tomorrow on Oculus Rift/Rift S and Oculus Quest for $9.99 via the Oculus Store. Everyone who picks up a Quest headset between tomorrow and January 31st will receive all three episodes for free — those lucky ducks.
