“Harry Potter” Visual Effects Supervisor Discusses “Very Good” 3D in Part 2

Tim Burke, the visual effects supervisor of the Harry Potter movie franchise made a few statements about the 3D in the final movie installment, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2”.

Burke praised the final film’s 3D conversion. The movie was initially shot in 2D and then painstakingly converted into 3D, however, Burke assures us that the process was done properly and that no time was wasted or misused, “[they] used every second [they] possibly could” to get a high-quality product.

“I think people are going to be really pleased. I know everyone’s a little nervous and skeptical of 3D these days, but the work has been done very, very well. We’ve done over 200 shots in 3D and in the visual effects as well, because so much of it is CG, so the results are very, very good.”
