The question often times is what I want versus what I need to get the job done. If you are one of the lucky few who are rich or have rich parents indulging you then you probably don’t need to read this. But if you are the most of us, your video pursuits don’t always make as much as you’d like.
I’ve been lucky to have been able (so far) to make a living doing what I love to do. And let me be clear, I am NOT knocking Atomos products. I have been using and promoting Atomos going back to 2010 when Australian Jeromy Young founded the company. I was the first to utilize two of the original Ninjas to record 3D Stereoscopic.
The image shows multiple 3D Cameras that I used to film the LA Fashion Week in 2012. Notice all the Atomos products? And in 2013 Atomos had me as one of the featured speakers at NAB. So yes, I know and love Atomos products.
But in the economic times we live in, some of us need something effective and affordable. That’s where the Osee T-5+ Camera monitor comes in.
I like this monitor. It’s a solidly built camera monitor with all the features I use most.
Pros:
1: Brightness The T5+ has 1000 nits of brightness, which is brighter than some premium smartphones and makes it perfect for use indoors as well as outdoors.
2: Features The exposure tools, especially the Waveform/Vectorscope
3.The ability to load your own viewing luts,
4. Focus peaking, False Color
5. Great battery life even with the bright display.
6. I find the image quality of the Osee T5+ to have accurate color and a good detailed image.
7. And so importanly it is lightweight. The T5+ is lightweight, which is a big advantage when using it on top of your camera.
in conclusion, I have found that the T5+ is a great value for the price, with many professional features for under $150.
And if you act fast you can get the Osee-T-5-Camera-Monitor at Amazon for only $119.
Here are the specs.
