Atomos Highlight Award Winning Recording and Monitoring Solutions at BVE 2015

Melbourne, Australia – 24th February, 2015: At BVE 2015 Atomos will highlight their award winning touchscreen accessories for cameras that enable a faster, higher quality and more affordable end to end production. Outside of showing the existing range, Atomos will announce the world’s first implementation of AVID DNxHR recording for 4K, the first fully working sample of Power Station which is a must-have power management solution for the camera rig and the first post launch demonstration of the 4K Shogun complete with larger batteries and a custom developed Sun hood for outside applications.

Visitors to the Atomos stand at BVE 2015 can get hands on with the 4K Atomos Shogun, which combines a 4K/HD ProRes/DNxHR/DNxHD recorder with a 1920×1200 325ppi LCD IPS monitor, playback deck and cut edit suite into a single, affordable touchscreen device for the world’s leading cameras. Recording all content to 4:2:2 10-bit, giving the user the choice of HQ/422/LT bit rates, ability to create Favorite/Reject XML file markers and (unlike other ProRes monitor/recorders on the market) not restricted by FAT32 file size limits in the recording (e.g. 4GB or 2.5min). Outside of getting hands on with the product, you will also see the latest improvements made to Shogun including a larger capacity 4 cell battery, an optional Sun Hood accessory available in black or yellow, the opportunity to see the latest DNxHR enabled Shogun firmware and see a selection of amazing footage captured by Shogun users in the field (https://vimeo.com/120444933).

Also on show is the latest product from Atomos, the Power Station. The new Power Station, scheduled for release in Q2 2015 utilizes Atomos’ patented continuous power technology to give cameramen extra control over power consumption in remote field locations. With a flexible dual USB power source the Power Station allows users to charge high-powered 2A devices (e.g. iPad), along with 3 DC out to power cameras, monitors and lighting sources. The DC input also means that the Power Station is a charging station, providing a fast charging solution for the included dual 5200mAh 4 cell batteries. The front LED display will let you know exactly how much power is left from a maximum of 5A output and the top & bottom mounting holes provide flexible mounting options no matter what the application.

“The speed of innovation continues unabated at Atomos.” said Jeromy Young CEO and co-founder of Atomos. “Hot on the heels of a successful Shogun launch, we now are proud to announce enhanced functionality for the Shogun, brand new Shogun accessories and we are confident our Power Station product will not only prove to be popular with Video professionals but introduce the entire photography market to the Atomos brand. You can’t help but be excited by an all in one power and charging solution”.

At the heart of Atomos recording solutions are the Ninja and Samurai recorders which have broken new ground in production by combining recording, monitoring, playback and deck functionality all in one easy to operate, portable device. Atomos also produce the world’s lightest recorder, the Ninja Star, which is perfect for Drones, RC Helicopters, or any POV set-up and offers edit ready format recording with ProRes.

Every Atomos recording option will record pristine, uncompressed images straight from the sensor of DSLRs or video cameras, or even switcher or ISO feeds from live events, directly to inexpensive, removable 2.5″ HDDs or SSDs, in a ready-to-edit format: Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD. Atomos recorders speed up any production workflow, improve recorded image quality and replace multiple devices for a fraction of their combined cost.

Atomos can be found at BVE Expo, London Excel, 24-26 February 2015, Hall/Stand: H30 or see www.atomos.com and www.bvexpo.com for more details.
