New York Fashion Week 2014 helped kick off the first ever 3D Printshow New York!
“There’s pieces on the catwalk that you’ll think ‘I would never wear that because it’s so huge and amazingly exciting.’ It’s not something that you would wear on the high street, but there’s also shoes on the catwalk that you can order online and customize and you can change the color and the size and they’re printable so that you can have your own printed, customized shoes,” said Kerry Hogarth from the conference.
“We’ve not got that in clothes yet because you haven’t got the right materials to be wearing, but it’s something of the future and our designers will be working with a system eventually where people can download designs and print or use, more likely, a bureau that will print it for them but customize it or tweak it so it’s suitable to themselves,” said Hogarth.
