3D doomsayers— what do you think of this news? If 3D TV sales keeps growing, demand for 3D content and everything 3D relatively grows as well….or maybe not (you’d still say!). The more in-demand 3D products are, there will need to be enough sales consultants to be able to manage the increasing workload. Why don’t you view the top industries in 2020 here to see if the 3D industry makes the list? If it doesn’t then you can still have fun selling 3D TVs all day. I mean who wouldn’t want to do that?
Our friend Sovan Mandal has someting to say on his recent blog, 3D TV Sales Grow 72 Percent In 2012, Samsung Biggest Player. Keep reading below.
Contrary to popular perception, 3D TV sales has actually shown a positive growth in 2012. DisplaySearch has reveled that sales of 3D enabled TVs has grown 72 percent last year which has beaten the global slump that the entire TV sector has been witnessing.
Industry data revealed a total 41.45 million 3D TV units were shipped in 2012 compared to just 24.14 million units shipped in 2011. Overall, it has been healthy growth story for the 3D TV’s over the years considering just 2.26 million 3D TVs were shipped in 2010.

Among 3D TV manufacturers, it is Samsung that is leading from the front with a total market share of 27 percent. However, while that is still a commanding position, it is lower than the 31 and 37 percent market share that Samsung had to its credit in 2011 and 2010 respectively. Domestic competitor LG made up the second spot in global 3D TV shipment with a market share of 18 percent while Sony came in third with just 7 percent of the global 3D TV market.

Absolutely true – who cares what 3-D skeptics claim, as long as the 3-D TV market keeps growing, we are all happy.
Take a look what happened with audio. The more natural, more exciting medium will always persist in the longer term. It’s 7:1 systems now up from monto, stereo, quadro etc …
PS: 3doo now lets producers market their content directly to all those 3D Smart TV’s.
