3DGuy Wows at AMCHAM Gadget Night

On November 20, 2013, at the Conrad Hotel on Wireless Road in Bangkok, AMCHAM, the American Chamber of Commerce, hosted it’s Social Networking & Gadget Night, with close to 300 members in attendance from the American, Canadian, British, Australian and New Zealand Chambers of Commerce. Occupying the Beverly Hills Ballroom at the Conrad, an impressive list of vendors showed off the latest and greatest “tech toys”. Included were:

 

 

    •  Apple’s just released iPads, along with a ton of cool devices from flying robots to wireless health gadgets from Copperwired
    •  New Surface 2 hybrid laptop/tablets and a 70″ touch screen device from Microsoft.
    •  Nokia’s new phablet featuring the latest Microsoft operating system
    •  Seagate & Western Digital
    •  Augmented Reality Smart Watches from Qualcomm
    •  Portable solar power and action video cameras from Tank Store
    •  BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.1 and BlackBerry 10 Smartphone
    •  3DGuy with media partner LG with its giant Ultra HD screens and 3D treasures!

3DGuy showed off a variety of 3D goodies. With media partner LG, supplying the newest UltraHD TVs, 3DGuy displayed some of its award winning 3D content on the stunning 4K displays. 4K 3D steps up the medium to breathtaking new heights.

Auto-stereoscopic 3D tablets by Neo3Do were on hand for those who wanted a glasses free 3D viewing.

In the non-3D, but still cool section, the iOgrapher was a real head turner everywhere that it traveled in the room. This US$70 device holds your iPad or iPad Mini securely in place and converts them into a multi device holding camera. Combined with the Filmic Pro App and a wide angle lens, you can shoot like a pro with ease.

The iOgrapher  Mobile Media Case for iPad 2/3/4 is all purpose filmmaking case for the iPad 2/3/4. Made from high grade poly-carbonate, the iOgrapher  is extremely tough and durable enough to withstand any shooting environment. Add 37mm lenses to a convenient, threaded lens mount for wide angles, fish-eye looks, and macros for those extreme close ups. iOgrapher  even has mounts for attaching lighting and audio gear on its 3 accessory shoes across the top.

The state of the art external recorder, the Atomos Samurai Blade with a Connect HDMI to HDSDI converter was hooked up to a Panasonic HDC-Z10000 3D Camera to illustrate the ability to capture 3D in high bit rate, high resolution 3D. This camera combo was used on location recently at the Great Wall of China and also at the TAT ( Tourist Authority of Thailand) sponsored 3D shoot, the Surin Elephant Round Up and Elephant Buffet.

The new, first of a kind, SuperHero 3D Rig System was yet another “star” gadget of the evening. The system, designed by Al Caudullo, was created using 2 GoPro Hero3 cameras. A combination software/hardware system enables you to shoot 3D in perfect sync. Field tested in Japan, China, Singapore and Thailand in actual on location 3D productions, this new camera system is off to steadily increasing sales worldwide.

The rig, LCD holder and accessories are all printed with Al Caudullo’s new “3DGuy 3D Printer”. At a price point of US$1000 this new 3D Printer is also enjoying brisk sales.

3DGuy has begun offering  3D Design and Printing services for corporate clients. On display where assortment of 3D printing wonders: from “Despicable Me” minions to rickshaws to the obelisk years and even a replica of the Eiffel Tower. Recent “3D printing news” have highlighted human livers being reproduced using 3D printers. This caught the interest of the many.

No one in attendance missed the opportunity to come by and see the printer in action. It was by far the hit of the evening. The 3DGuy team gave away “Your Key to the Future”  keychains, created with the 3D printer.
