Chinese TV maker Seiki has stated it is in the process of launching a new 4K TV — Seiki SE65UY04 – in the US that is expected to cost as low as just $2,500. This no doubt will make it the cheapest among the present crop of 4K TVs that has been selling in the range of $6,000 and $7,000. Even the cheapest from front line companies such as LG or Sony with 55 inch display cost around $3,500 to $4,000. This however is hardly surprising as a low initial price point has been Seiki’s forte as it struggles to gain a foothold in a segment that itself is in the formative stages while being dominated by the biggies in the business.
