To promote its newest smartphone, Sprint will be handing out free 3D movies and applications with every purchase of the HTC EVO 3D.
Sprint released a press release to give a sneak peek into some of the apps, movies, and games that will be available on HTC EVO 3D when it launches this summer.
Although Sprint did not announce a release date for the HTC EVO 3D, yesterday, internal leaked documents suggested a June 24 release date, and one of our readers wrote,
“Yes, this is the exact same thing I heard from a Best Buy employee Saturday night. He said in no uncertain terms that they received a bulletin stating an absolute release date of June 24th. Then he showed me the statement cause I basically begged him to prove it…LOL! Looking forward to my new smartphone!!!”
For a limited time, Sprint will be offering customers, who purchase the HTC EVO 3D, the movie “The Green Hornet 3D.” The movie will be preloaded on the microSD card out of the box.
The HTC EVO 3D will come preloaded with the Blockbuster On Demand app, HTC Watch, Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem 3D demo version of the game, and Gameloft Storefront.
The release doesn’t mention the free download of the Black Eyed Peas song Phenomenon that was previously leaked.
A Sprint developer guide for HTC EVO 3D will be available on the Sprint Developer website at launch.
The HTC EVO 3D has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor and dual 5-megapixel cameras, which can be used to capture both conventional and 3D images and videos. Features include a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 3G/4G mobile hotspots, Google Voice for Sprint, 4GB Internal memory/1GB RAM, microSD slot (supports up to 32GB memory card), Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth, GPS, DLNA, HDMI port, and a 1730mAh Lithium-ion battery.
Next week’s RadioShack first page shows an add to preorder the EVO 3D.
A leaked promotional piece showed the price of the HTC EVO 3D to be $199 and $100 off with a trade-in of an HTC EVO Shift 4G or HTC EVO 4G and $10 a month premium data add-on.
