TEL AVIV –01 February, 2013—PrimeSenseTM, the leader in Natural Interaction® and 3D sensing, announced today that Yohai Devir, computer vision researcher, will present advances in 3D sensing technology in his presentation, “3D Sensing Goes Embedded” at the Israeli Machine Vision Conference (IMVC) taking place February 4, 2013 at the Hotel David Intercontinental in Tel Aviv.
Devir will pull from his experience in developing algorithms for PrimeSense’s NiTE™ (Natural Interface Technology for End-User) middleware as he talks about various uses for 3D sensing technology in new markets such as healthcare, robotics, interactive displays and retail. Devir will talk about recent advances in 3D sensing such as close-range support for hand and finger control as well as miniaturization of 3D sensing technology to be embedded into any device. His lecture will showcasethe enhancements that are allowing developers to broaden their computer vision applications. He will compare available 3D sensing technologies and talk to the audience about the challenges and solutions for segmentation, tracking, 3D scanning, human pose estimation and scene understanding.
PrimeSense’s 3D sensing technology is transforming any device by giving them the gift of sight and enabling them to view and interact with their environment. PrimeSense has just announced the next generation of its technology, the Capri 3D sensor for short of long range usage, tiny enough to be embedded into any device, enabling 3D sensing everywhere.
IMVC brings together research teams and academic institutions to share developments in the field of machine vision.
