Colin and Frances – Mary Pratt from Optics 3D Ltd (Witney, UK) makes affordable prescription 3D glasses. They have three products: RxMono3D, RxMulti3D and RxMulti3Di. RxMono3D are budget glasses, the RxMulti3D glasses are more upmarket glasses and the RxMulti3Di are the top of the range glasses. The RxMono3D glasses are available for RealD and Imax 3D or as sunglasses. The prescription version includes an insert which holds prescription lenses and clips into the inside of the frames.
RxMulti3D
RxMulti3D is a 3D glasses system with interchangeable polarisers holders which clip into the frames. Polarisers for RealD, Imax 3D and sunglasses are available. This allows the glasses to be used with both RealD and Imax 3D. For when you are not watching 3D films or sports, they can also be used as sunglasses. They also use the same clip in insert for the prescription lenses as the RxMono3D glasses. The RxMulti3Di use the same frames as the RxMulti3D glasses, but instead of the insert, has integrated prescription 3D lenses. They are only available for the RealD stereoscopic system.

Note also that Optics3D sell the same glasses – either with or without prescription lenses – in “Real2D” mode – i.e. the same orientation lens in both eyes. So for those of you who don’t like 3D, but sometimes are forced to sit through it, there is a solution for you too!
