With sales of SuperHero 3D Systems far exceeding expectations, 3DGuy has been very busy. But not to busy to get into further testing with the GoPro Hero 3+. The results have been spectacular! The SuperHero performs equally well with the GoPro Hero 3+.
There was concern that the new Superwide Mode might cause issues, but that has not proved to be the case. Shooting at 1080 Superwide mode at 48 fps has yielded excellent results.
In fact, all popular modes are working great. 3DGuy’s preferred modes are 1080S/48p – 1080/60p or 30p and 720/120p for those really high speed events.
One note of caution. Up till now I have been using Sandisk Ultra 32 GB and 64 GB micro SDHC cards with no issues at all. Along with my hero 3+ I received two Luxor 64 GB 90 Mb per second microSDXC cards. These have so far been a problem. They seem to work fine in the Hero 3+ but when I add the script for the SuperHero they do not activate the record sequence. I have heard through the grapevine vine that certain microSD cards are having issues. Hopefully the issue will be resolved with a GoPro firmware update. Interestingly enough the newest firmware from GoPro that was released on November 13, 2013 was supposed to fix compatibility problems with various memory cards. Looks like it’s not quite there yet. At least not when you’re using the superhero script.
3DGuy will keep you posted on this and let you know as the situation progresses.
