Universal Pictures has released a set of mini documentaries about the making of sci-fi film Oblivion, the Tom Cruise blockbuster which opens in cinemas on Wednesday April 10 (UK). OBLIVION arrives in IMAX® theatres throughout North America on April 19.
Cruise plays former marine Jack Harper, one of the few remaining humans on Earth in 2073 after a war which destroyed the planet 60 years earlier. The majority of surviving humans now live in orbit and Cruise’s character is tasked with ‘maintenance’ – repairing the drones that eliminate any remaining alien life. When a mysterious woman (Olga Kurylenko) who knows about his past arrives, he realizes everything he believed about humanity’s existence was false.
