There was neither a media launch nor press release for the latest Panasonic Viera TH-P42GT20, which is possibly one of the most affordable 3D TVs from a major manufacturer. For $2,327, this 42-inch plasma is hard to beat in terms of value and features. These include a full-HD Infinite Black panel based on the company’s power-efficient NeoPDP technology, Viera Cast Web streaming with Skype support and DLNA playback.
In fact, this model is probably a tweaked 3D version of its highest-end 2D plasma TV (V-series) in a black glossy shell. This means you’re not losing out much compared with Panasonic’s top-of-the-line 3D offerings (VT20-series) except for their THX certification and Infinite Black Pro panels. You could wait for the CES-announced 3D TVs shipping in coming months or check out this inexpensive late 2010 entry.
