Nicolas Cage has gone a little bit mad again, as he fights all manner of hell in Drive Angry 3D. This might just be the action movie pleasure of 2011 too. Take a look at that new poster, and you’ll notice, right near the bottom, that’s there’s something just a little different about it. For, where films have been using that spot to chest-beat about being in 3D,Drive Angry is showing that people might just be getting savvier. As such, we get “shot in 3D”. Yep, the 3D ‘revolution’ is only around a year old, and already it’s been damaged to the point where some parts of the audience are getting savvy about the slapped-on 3D retrofit.
That’s not what’s happened with Drive Angry 3D, however. And it’s not just a new poster that we’ve got here. We’ve also got a full trailer for what looks like one of the most batshit crazy movies of next year. It stars Nicolas Cage, as one man taking on a cult to save his granddaughter, with a dose of hell thrown in too. But already, it almost seems churlish to talk too much about the plot. Instead, this is a film about action, lots of it, and Nicolas Cage channelling the glory days of Cameron Poe.
Take a look at the trailer, and then the film arrives next February. It should be fun too…
