In case you forgot, because it’s been years since the original announcement, Sony is producing an all new 3D animated version of the classic cartoon Popeye, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky.
In this newly released “animation test,” Tartakovsky, the Russian director famous for Cartoon Network’s Dexter’s Laboratory and his feature film debut Hotel Transylvania, gives an introduction to the film, set to release, someday.
“We wanted to really explore how Popeye would translate from the old ‘30s and ‘40s cartoons to today, without losing the heart and sincerity of what Popeye really is,” Tartakovsky tells us.
