Just the other day, we brought you the newest firmware update courtesy of David Newman, Senior Director of Software Engineering for GoPro,
for the Hero3+. So yesterday I loaded up one Hero3+ with the new firmware and another without. The video below shows you just what the new differences do. Shot on set of the new Reality TV Show, REAL STREET FIGHTER.
- 2.7K, Pro Tune, Camera Raw, 6400 ISO (1600 ISO, 400 ISO), Medium Sharpness, Flat Color, Exposure Adjust
The biggest difference is that GoPro has taken a huge leap towards giving us manual control of these amazing little cameras.
This is definitely, in my opinion, a precursor to a much more professional future GoPro Hero. Undoubtedly, the Hero4 will have these features and hopefully 4K resolution at 60fps. I know that’s a big jump but I believe that going to 60fps rather than 30fps will be a better move into the professional arena.
The big push from content buyers has been all about 4K at 60fps. Manufacturers should take heed.
