How QD Television Will Make Us Forget the Existence of 3D Television

From the very first day man stepped on the surface of this Earth, he is continually striving, struggling and endeavoring to make his life a comfortable and easier one. He has been bestowed with a creative, inventive and intellectual mind, and he has been constantly using these faculties to the best of his skills, capacities and capabilities. The latest Quantum Dot television technology is a proof of the creativity and intellect of Human brain. The TV market has always managed to impress us with its innovative technology, ensuring that whenever we use a comparativa website, as they call them in Spain, we’ve got an unreal number of great products to choose from.

What Is QD or Quantum Dots Television Technology?

QD television technology is a new form of display technology in which light emitting nano-crystals called quantum dots are employed to produce ultra thin flat screen televisions. These nano crystals which are even slender than the thickness of a strand of human hair can be deposited on flexible and large sheets of paper to produce paper-thin, flexible, giant sized displays. Scientists hope that this new form of screen technology will be available in the market by the end of 2013. However, the flexible quantum TV’s are expected to take couple of years to reach the electronic market.

The QD Television technology is similar to the basic design of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display technology and is expected to revolutionize the flat screen television market. The scientists behind the invention of this amazing technology are already working with some major Asian electronic companies and believe that with the introduction of QD televisions, 3D Televisions are going to be a thing of the past. The Univision Deportes channel is perfect for latinos and Latino Satelite is great for comparing featured packages.

With many promising advantages over 3D televisions, QD televisions are considered as the next generation flat screen televisions. The advantages of quantum dot technology include;

· Portability

The QD television technology will enable manufacturers to create a flat screen TV that can be easily rolled up without damage and carried around since the super small quantum dots can be printed on flexible substrates like plastic sheets. QD televisions are available as flat screens, but can also be placed on a white gloss TV unit if flat screen isn’t quite your thing.

· Super Picture Quality

The super small size of Quantum Dots permits manufacturers to determine the wavelength of the emission that determines the color the human eye perceives. The quantum dots can be tuned to emit any color by changing the size and shape of the minute crystals. As a result, the QD televisions are going to be much brighter and the quality of display will be much superior to the current flat screen televisions.

· Ultra Thin Screens

Most of the televisions produced currently have an LCD (a liquid crystal display) that is lit by LED’s (light emitting diodes) with a few millimeters thick screen. The use of quantum dots in televisions will enable manufacturers to produce televisions that are not only lighter but also super slim.

· Cost Effective

The scarcities of rare earth elements that are required in most LCD displays have resulted in an increase in the production costs, compelling manufacturing firms to look for alternative ways to produce them. Quantum Dot technology will allow manufacturers to make cost effective televisions since quantum dots are made from relatively inexpensive semi conductor material that emits light when energized by ultraviolet light or electricity.

· Energy Efficient

The high efficiency of quantum crystals will enable manufacturers to produce televisions that consume low energy and save on their utility bills.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, after 3D television technology, it is time for another massive breakthrough in the world of television technology in the form of QDTV- a super television that can be rolled up and put in your pockets. This new screen technology that has taken many of its cues from the OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display technology invented by British scientists is expected to revolutionize the screen technology.

Using this technology manufacturers will be able to produce super thin and flexible televisions that will not only be energy efficient but will also be inexpensive (probably the biggest reason why manufacturers are so excited about using this QD technology that makes use of inexpensive inorganic semi conductor crystals). It is rumored that major Asian companies including LG, Sony, Samsung and Sharp are working with these scientists on the quantum dot technology and soon we are going to witness the QDTV’s that are believed to make people forget the existence of 3D Televisions.

Author’s Bio

D. Baxter is a software engineer and a freelance blogger. The author believes that with the introduction of QD televisions, 3D television will become a thing of the past and people will soon forget the existence of 3D televisions. According to her suggestion the Univision Deportes channel is perfect for latinos and latinosatelite.com is great for comparing featured packages.

  1. Regarding “forgetting 3D,” this is baloney! The author of this article g#ives no reason for this preposterous assumption. The 3D feature will have to be incorporated into QD technology, just as it has been incorporated into other display technologies that preceded it, like LCD, Plasma, LED, and edge-lit LED, all of which have been used to generate 3D TVs. 3D is now a well-entrenched and desirable niche feature, regardless of the display technology. QD will simply make it better and hopefully cheaper.
