As 3D blockbusters (‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘Man of Steel,’ ‘World War Z,’ ‘Pacific Rim’ …) pack cineplexes this summer, 3 new concert movies are ready to step onstage soon. One Direction’s ‘This Is Us’ and Metallica’s ‘Through the Never’ will hit theatres in late August. But few concert movies have been as anticipated as ‘Dance Again,’ the 3D movie coming from international mega superstar Jennifer Lopez.
‘Dance Again’ will highlight performances from Lopez’s recent world tour that took her from Europe to Australia. The film will also provide a glimpse into her life backstage and off-stage.
And while her worldwide legions of fans are focused on the “close up and personal” look at one of the world’s most famous entertainers, 3D insiders have their eyes on ‘Dance Again’ in large part because of the people behind the cameras. To those closest to 3D concert movie productions, 3Ality Technica is considered the industry’s “A-team.”
By most accounts, 2010’s ‘U2 3D’ concert film is the “gold standard” by which all concert movies are measured. And since then, 3Ality Technica and Director Ted Kenney have scored again with 3D movies featuring the Black Eyed Peas and Britney Spears. The planned theatrical release has been described as a “high energy documentary.”
Benny Medina and Lopez will executive produce through Medina and Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions.
