John Lasseter Discusses Cars 2 and What Makes Pixar’s 3D So Darned Good

John Lasseter, famed cofounder of Pixar Animation Studios and director of the upcoming Cars 2, discusses everything from what makes Pixar awesome to why their 3D is the epitome of what 3D should be.

“In a roundtable interview, the director talks about the difficulties that come with producing a sequel, adding that there is a certain code of ethics with Pixar that they do not create sequels for their movies just to print the money, but to tell a compelling story that will hopefully engage the audience.”

“You can sense the drive, motivation, and passion that the director has and puts into each one of his movies. He may not have gotten into specifics for any future projects, but the director did state that they do like to keep their characters alive, which could mean that we could be seeing characters from previous Pixar features return in either animated shorts or hidden cameos.”

What we are telling you this for is because Lasseter discusses 3D and it’s use in Pixar movies. Which is perfect because when I think of good 3D I think of “Up” and “Toy Story 3”. The reasons behind WHY that is true are all in this interview. It’s too entertaining and interesting to not listen to.

You can follow the source and listen to the full interview from MovieViral’s podcast. You can listen to it on their site but I recommend finding it on iTunes.
