Marquise Technologies has announced the products to be showcased at IBC. Offering a complete and fully integrated 4K workflow including on-set dailies management, conforming, high-end real-time color grading, mastering of DCP and IMF, and new this year the quality & control of the content using ICE, Image Control Engine, Marquise Technologies outstrips the more and more complex needs of its clients.
ICE Image Control Engine
ICE is a new product dedicated to Quality Control. Capable of playing back any type of file from SD to 4K, including Digital Cinema packages (DCP) as well as Interoperable Master Format (IMF) packages, RAW data or H265 immediately, without prior ingestion, ICE is the tool of choice for monitoring content for Digital Cinema or UHDTV broadcast.
Creation of Playlists, DCP and IMF validation through the assessment of the compliance and the integrity of the packages, automatic resizing, color space conversions for REC2020, ACES, DCI XYZ, and play out on HD to 4K monitors or 2K/4K DCI projectors are among the key features.
MIST new architecture
Since its first release, MIST always used the latest technology breakthrough in terms of power and speed, in order to continue to deliver real-time all the time, independently of resolution or file format, could it be RAW, DCP or IMF. The new CUDA-based image processing engine, allows heavy-weight algorithms to be executed at the desired speed (2K, 4K 60 FPS). In the case of mastering for Digital Cinema this means encoding and decoding JPEG2000 pictures at high frame rates at the same time as applying several layers of color correction. The new architecture benefits from multiple GPUs computing. Supported GPUs are NVIDIA K4000, K5000, K6000 and Tesla K20.
MIST DCI Mastering & IMF Mastering
MIST DCI Mastering, with its unique integrated color management system, and MIST IMF Mastering have gained more features to control the mastering of the packages. The content of a package is easily comprehensible using the Assets Inspector, and the Validation tools helps you check the compliance. All error messages or tests results can be exported as PDF reports.
On the DCI mastering side, very useful functionalities have been added, like the ability to navigate through the spotting list of a subtitle track, the support of the automation markers, the support for closed captions or the support of Interop MPEG2 encoding & decoding for the repackaging of earliest DCPs. The pioneering Dolby Atmos immersive audio system is partially supported, with full integration being available before the end of the year.
On the IMF side, with its spread getting wider and wider for every facility with tape-less workflows, MIST is today the most easy to use solution available able to create OPL, using the FlowGraph. The new AS-02 wrapping specification is also supported.
MIST Mobile
This ultimate nomad device, especially designed for dailies on-set services, will be showcased using its Live Module. The Live Module allows for one part the real-time capture of the SDI signal, should it be the video reference outputted by the camera, or the RAW data through SDI.
Able to work live from the SDI signal, or on the real-time de-Bayered RAW, the color grading features have been supplemented by six vectors of Secondary correction for keying. The ACES pipeline is also fully supported in live.
Light RAIN 4K
The groundbreaking color grading solution RAIN also benefits from the new CUDA-based image processing engine with multi GPU architecture. New de-Bayering modes are now available and support for monochrome ARRIRAW, F65, F55, Sony XAVC & SRMaster, H265 are among the key formats processed in real-time, at 4K and beyond.
