More of Attenborough on Sky 3D

UK pay-television network Sky 3D is partnering with Sir David Attenborough again late this year and in 2014.

Both projects, 90-minute documentray; Natural History Museum Adventure and two-part series Conquest of the Skies, will be written and presented by David Attenborough and produced by Colossus Productions, a partnership set up between Sky 3D and Atlantic Productions to develop original 3D titles for both UK and international audiences.

Adventure and magic for broadcast on Sky 3D this Christmas In David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Advent,  the 87-year-old will explore the titular British museum after hours, as his favorite ancient creatures “come to life” .

The documentary will feature CGI technology and will air on TV in the UK later this year, around Christmas time.In a statement, Attenborough said, “The Natural History Museum has always been a special place for me. I’m excited to make a film using new 3D technology, which will take the viewer on a journey through one of my favorite museums and look at it – and its inhabitants – in ways never seen before.”

Sky is keeping details of  ‘Conquest of the Skies’. Aside from confirming that it will be 2 x 90-minutes and is due for broadcast in late 2014, Sky just said details will soon be announced.

“Once again we’ll combine David’s master storytelling with fascinating subject matter and ground-breaking 3D and CGI techniques, to deliver the spectacular, immersive viewing experiences we know our customers love.”
