camBLOCK Announces Adventure Motion Control System
New film-making tool to create special effects, motion time-lapse and animation footage
DALLAS, TX – April 8, 2013 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: camBLOCK introduces camBLOCK Adventure – a fully featured, ultra-portable motion control camera system premiering today via Kickstarter and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas.
camBLOCK Adventure builds upon camBLOCK’s existing line of professional motion control systems that have been adopted by today’s top cinematographers. camBLOCK Adventure enables filmmakers to create repeatable and precise camera moves for real-time effects, motion time-lapse and animation. It is smaller, lighter and more portable than the original camBLOCK modular system, having all three axis built into a single compact unit that can be controlled from a wireless mobile device. camBLOCK Adventure is launching via a Kickstarter campaign today and will begin shipping this summer.
“Most of our customers are adventure filmmakers, they have filmed polar bears in the Yukon, lions in Africa, glaciers in Greenland and rock formations in Death Valley. camBLOCK Adventure is designed for medium sized cameras such as Digital SLRs and compact digital cinema cameras. Pan, tilt and dolly mechanisms are housed in a single unit allowing for fast and easy setup. One of the most innovative features of the camBLOCK Adventure is its unique tilt mechanism, allowing for a high degree of nodal tilt without having any bulky side support. This radical design dramatically shrinks the system’s form factor. Key features of the system also include an expandable track system, built in camera trigger, WiFi control with an advanced iOS app, and accessory ports for future expansion.
The camBLOCK Adventure kit will begin shipping this summer at $8990. Special limited pre-order pricing is obtainable via Kickstarter through May 8th.
Also announced today, for the camBLOCK modular system, is a 3-axis joystick for existing controllers and a WiFi expansion module providing wireless control via the same new iOS application.
