Tiffen has just updated their digital photo filter suite and now offer several interesting new applications. I have been using Tiffen filters since I bought my first camera, and they have always remained a brand I trust.
Among the most valuable new features I found in the revamped filter suite was DeNoise. It does an effective job of clearing up grainy images and associated noise, while retaining the overall clarity of the picture.
Its Film Stocks feature is also well worth the investment, as it enables users to mimic the look and feel of different film stocks, including Fuji, Kodak, Polaroid, Agfa, and Ilford.
One of the other features I enjoyed applying to some of my stock photos was Rays, which creates a starburst effect, altering the mood and emphasis of landscape photos in particular.
There are some other features Tiffen offers that might be of interest to more specialized users includes Color Shadows, Key Light, and Texture. The first of these features takes original photos and uses them to create stylized shadow images. Key Light gives editors and photographers the flexibility to easily alter directional points of light or other effects after recording the image to disk. Texture, meanwhile, will allow users to adopt a stylistic flourish and apply it to their work to give it a customized and personal feel.
Never one to disappoint, Tiffen again has come up with novel features for photographers of every stripe, novice as well as professional. This filter suite will be a valuable addition to your photographic toolkit.
Please be back for more updates.
