Subject: Notice to HDMI Adopters regarding HDMI CTS for 25Hz 3DTV Formats
To: ALL HDMI Adopters
Regarding: Compliance Testing for 25Hz 3DTV formats
The 3DTV formats used over the HDMI link between a receiver (source) and a display device (sink) have evolved over time. This evolution is determined by the broadcaster who is responsible for transmitting such signals over the air. Due to the channel capacity limitation, a large part of mostly drama productions in Europe are produced in the 25Hz 3DTV format, which results in the same overall data rate as a standard 2D HDTV signal.
With regards to the HDMI Compliance Test Specification, Version 1.4b, HDMI Adopters are advised that if the DUT implements any of the formats below and these formats are indicated on the CDF, these formats will additionally be tested in accordance with the protocol tests ID 7-38 (pages 192 pp.) and ID 8-29 (pages 280 pp.).
