Plural Eyes 3 x 20

Everyone knows that Plural Eyes is a fantastic tool for multicam productions.  I love Plural Eyes for its ability to help sync 3D clips from different cameras.  Plural Eyes 3 works by looking at the audio waveform and matching them together.  So as long as you record audio with your video, you can match multiple cameras that are not synced together.

But now we have the new Plural Eyes 3.  But just what is the difference?  Let’s go over the improvements.

An unbelievably faster 20 times than Plural Eyes 2!

There’s a new GUI and timeline layout, which makes it easier to find any problems and correct them.  Quality control options called to up view and snap to sink along with the visual timeline.  You can get it as a standalone application or as a plug-in for your NLE and what red giant has done is that by Plural Eyes for one app and use it for all your host applications with just one purchase.

Plural Eyes also can be a god-send for DSLR users to get good quality audio. With the SLR’s, you need to use a separate audio recorder and then synchronize audio and video and post production. By using Plural Eyes 3 you can do that easily.

I recently did a production at the LA Fashion Week, a six 3D camera shoot.  Due to the amount of time that we had, there was no way to sync the cameras together, plus two of the 3D cameras were tied into a switch displaying to 3D monitors around the building.  When time came to do the edit, it could’ve been a long and arduous process, but I brought the clips into the standalone version of Plural Eyes 3 and in almost the blink of an eye all six cameras were synced together! Now you may not run into this type of shoot very often, but it’s nice to know that Plural Eyes 3 is there when you need it.

Great news for Edius 6.5 users, Plural Eyes 3 is now in beta testing.  Soon you’ll be able to use Plural Eyes 3 right off the timeline from the tools menu, just as we did with Edius 6.0.  Don’t worry will keep you posted as soon as it’s available.
