LOS ANGELES (July 24, 2013) – Radiant Images is providing all cameras, gear and support for the highly-anticipated Season 2 of NBC’s acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama Revolution, which recently started shooting in Austin.
The production team from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions (Lost, Alias, Star Trek) entrusted Radiant Images, which provided one of the four camera packages in Season 1 of Revolution, to be the exclusive provider of gear and support for Season 2.
“We are so pleased and excited to be the working with Revolution exclusively on Season 2,” said Michael Mansouri, VP at Radiant Images. “We love the show, the energy and the whole concept of the story. We feel Revolution is a good match for our capabilities, mindset and the solutions that we can offer.”

Radiant Images is providing the ARRI Alexa Plus lensed with ARRI Ultra Prime and a wide assortment of Optimo Angenieux, Fujinon Cabrio and the latest Fujinon Premier lenses.
The cinematographers also have a pair of Radiant’s Novo cameras on set. The world’s smallest digital cinema camera, the new lens-friendly action camera removes the cinematic limitations of the GoPro Hero3 for filmmakers and can be mounted almost anywhere for tight shots and dynamic photography.
“The Novo as an important new tool to help cinematographers achieve their vision without compromise, which is our goal,” Mansouri said. “Given the look and feel of Revolution, including all the action sequences and shots in tight quarters, the Novo is going to be quite useful.”
Revolution tells the story of a group of revolutionaries who confront an authoritarian regime 15 years after an instantaneous global shutdown of all electrical devices – computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights – known as the Blackout. The science-fiction drama is also about family – both the family you’re born into and the family you choose.
The first of 22 episodes for Season 2 of Revolution will premiere on NBC on Sept. 25.
