One of the most important processes required to make beautiful images is the ability to adjust, tweak or sometimes completely change the original image.
reFine handles this process in a unique and effective approach.
reFine utilizes high-quality edge preserving filtering of still pics and video. Aside from the excellent ends results you also get quite a boost in speed and a decrease in memory usage over conventional methods. reFine’s process splits up the image into three detail layers: Coarse, medium and fine. Each of the detail layers can be manipulated separately in various ways, for instance, sharpening or smoothing. Add to that sophisticated, but easy to use masking and you have quick isolation of image features for selective filtering.
If you really want to get artistic, you can also create cartoon and pencil effects. Combining these with the sharpening and smoothing creates some very interesting effects. The iPad version does not offer these features.
Also not available on the iPad version is the masking ability.
I tested reFine on both still pics via Photoshop and video via After Effects and Premiere. All produced excellent results. The program also works with your iPad and I think that is were it really excels.
