The first 8K (7200×3600) 60 frame per second, 3D VR180, produced content supported on the new Oculus Quest 2. Al Caudullo in Thailand and Daniel Bury in Australia were tapped to provide additional VR180 content integral to the project.
I spoke with Elliot Graves, Director of Micro Monsters and Creative Lead at Alchemy Immersive, about the secrets behind creating this landmark immersive content. What follows is Part Two of a Four-Part series.
What is 360 VR Video?
360 video is a video that is recorded in all directions at the same time with multiple cameras. The videos are stitched together either internally in the camera or externally using special software.
It then forms one spherical video that is controlled by the viewer, enabling them to look up, down, right or left at their discretion.
