There I was, waiting at the entrance to see Guardians of the Galaxy. But how do you make sure that your 3D experience is the best it can possibly be?
The theater only owner isn’t too likely to let you go in and check the projector or make sure that it’s not running on economy mode to save to make the lamps last little longer. Practically speaking those things are out of your control with complaining after-the-fact if it becomes a problem as your only option.
There is one secret that I’m going to share with you that can enhance your 3D viewing experience at the movies or even at home.
You’re 3D glasses. This is the one piece of the puzzle that you have total control over. Yes the theater provide you with glasses. They even sanitize them to make sure they’re clean. But the quality of those glasses leave much to be desired. Plus add to that you have to wear those glasses over your prescription eyewear. Even though these glasses are expensive the theater doesn’t want to replace them too often so you can be left with scratches smudges and worked three glasses that will definitely adversely affect your 3D experience.
There’s a way to solve all of these problems when watching any RealD (which most theaters use) movie. I have been testing some uni-lenses from prescription 3D.org. And I have to tell you that I am impressed. I’ve tested other plastic frame custom 3D glasses, but these are surpass those without question. I found a sturdy metal frame and hinges to be well-made and robust.
First I wore these glasses outside while driving to the theater. One of the things you always your warnings about is that regular 3D glasses are not sunglasses they don’t have that built-in UV protection. These do! Plus The antireflective coating and improves the light transmission making your images crisper and cleaner. That translates into better 3D in the theater or at home.
The best part to all of this is that you can order these glasses to fit your prescription copying your regular eyewear that she would wear in the theater. An added bonus on top of that is that if you wear your glasses regularly outside you now have a pair of 3D glasses plus a pair of prescription sunglasses. This means not having to carry around the extra glasses that you wouldn’t normally be using.
The ordering process is fairly simple and straightforward and has you measure your pupil distance to make sure that you get the right size glasses. You can even copy the information from the inside arm of one of your glasses that gives you the lens size and bridge size. So if your regular prescription eyewear fits comfortably you can be sure that your 3D prescription eyewear will fit equally well.
