Created on December 25, 1982, as the 44th national park of Thailand, Khlong Lan National Park is approximately six (6) hours north of Bangkok. Khlong Lan national park sprawls over mountain ranges west of Kamphaeng Phet Province, covering 300 square kilometers of land, the peaks reaching as high as 1,400 meters. Lush virgin jungles act as filters for the rain that falls and flows into streams in the area.
The water begins flowing from the Khlong Lan canal in the Khlong Suan Mak mountain range. The five mountain creeks eventually merge and fall over the limestone cliff. At the fall’s base, the water is collected in a large pool before dropping another 100 meters. During the warm season, swimming in this pool is an excellent way of cooling down.
The park is open 6.00 am-6.00 pm daily. Forest-dwelling monks come to meditate and reflect. The park is open from 9.00 am-5.00 pm. Admission is 200 baht a person, and an additional fee of 100 baht a car will be charged for visitors driving a personal vehicle.
