As Gamescom 2018 kicks off it seems that Ubisoft is already getting their announcements out ahead of the rest by releasing a new trailer, the release date and a demo for their upcoming virtual reality (VR) title, Transference. The video game is a joint venture between Ubisoft Montréal and Spectrevision are sees players enter a deranged mind where they must explore a chilling new dimension. The newly released trailer sets up the stage for the demo titled Transference: The Walter Test Case Demo. Players will journey into a corrupted mind, where the only way to escape is to attempt to solve a mystery within. Acting as a prequel set several years before the events of the main title, players will enter the experiment that laid the foundation for the events which followed. Experiencing the troubled mind of a test subject suffering from PTSD, players will need to complete mind-bending puzzles in order to repair the mind and piece together the story as they switch between a number of different perspectives. Once more, the demo can be played in both in and out of VR, making it accessible to all. Though this is only a taste of what players can expect to experience in the full release, Transference: The Walter Test Case Demo looks to be filled with plenty of tension and horror throughout. The main entry will see players projected into a narrative experience where they must explore damaged minds in order to piece together the story. Plunged into the experiment of a troubled scientist, a corrupted digital simulation of his family formed using their collective brain data. Players will need to shift between three perspectives to uncover the mystery of the mind-bending psychological thriller.
