It’s been an amazing 35 days, and now our Kickstarter campaign is over.  We did it! Stay tuned to our backer updates page for reward updates, partner announcements, and much more.

Have a question? Head on over to our Kickstarter FAQ page and hit that ‘Ask a Question’ button. We’re happy to answer and help out.

If you missed out on the campaign, you can head over to our Pre-Order Store on BackerKit.

Here’s what you can expect moving forward over the next couple of weeks:

  • Payments will be processed, and if there are any issues Kickstarter staff will send you ONE notice. You’ll have 7 days to clear up the payment issue. Keep an eye out in your email inboxes, just in case they try to contact you.
  • In approximately 2-3 weeks you’ll receive your Pledge Survey from BackerKit. You’ll be able to let them know what you pledged for at that time, and there will be an opportunity to add some items onto your pledge as well, including spare game boards.
  • You’ll have plenty of time before your rewards ship to update your address, so if you are going to be moving before your reward ships out, don’t fret.

Introducing Tilt Five

Tilt Five is a whole new way to play games, in Augmented Reality (AR), with freaking holograms!

When you slip on the Tilt Five glasses and look at the game board, a vibrant 3D world opens up to you.  Suddenly chasms seem to drop infinitely into your table, and game characters and monsters spring up from the game board.

This is gaming, unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

Out of the box, you’ll have access to free games as well as thousands of officially licensed RPG adventures, and a multitude of classic tabletop, action video, puzzle, and party games.

“When we started designing the Tilt Five system our focus wasn’t on the technology for technology’s sake.  We wanted to provide an amazing gaming experience that blends the things you love about video games and board games. And we wanted it to be just as fun when playing solo, together with your friends, or even when you’re apart.”  Jeri Ellsworth, Co-Founder & CEO

Peer through the glasses

So some of you are saying “but you showed composited shots in your video.”  Yeah, we knew you’d say this.  In order to show the group experience of playing games around the table together, we had to make a creative choice.

Shooting through-the-lens footage is difficult, and when you add in actors and scenery it’s next to impossible. Here are many of the same shots as you would see them through the lens of the glasses, minus the actors and scenery of course.

How to Tilt Five different?

We decided to take a different approach at Tilt Five.  We focused on building an AR system that creates amazing tabletop gaming experiences, with glasses so lightweight and comfortable you can play all day.

Our lenses are large and wide open, so the glasses don’t block your vision. You can see your friends, pizza, and drinks, while you play true head to head games around the table.

The patented 110° field of view optical system fills the entire game board, and everything is in focus whether you’re leaning back in your chair or pressing your chin to the board to get a better look at the details on that dragon. To top it all off, the system had to be affordable.
