Topfun and Banaxi get 3D and 4K content

Australian distributor 3D Content Hub has announced 3D and 4K content deals with Topfun and Banaxi.

Both companies were announcing a large list of new documentaries, short films and award-winning productions at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas in early April. 3D Content Hub is a distributor with a large content offering of stereoscopic 3D and native 4K titles.

With this new licence agreement Topfun is adding more than 50 hours of 3D and 4K content for viewers in the Czech Republic.

Banaxi, a VOD service in Poland, Hungary and Serbia, has acquired over 40 hours of content.

“We are proud to work with companies that appreciate native 4K as opposed to upscaled HD and choses stereoscopic 3D over converted 3D”, said Torsten Hoffmann, CEO of 3D Content Hub.

These partnerships also signal that “3D isn’t dead” added Hoffmann. “It will remain a content niche just as many others, albeit much smaller than the initial hype had suggested” as he referred to the continuing rapid increase of 3D enabled devices in most parts of the world.

Topfun also recognises the next development within the TV display industry. “Ultra-HD is the next logical step in the evolution of large smart TVs”, said Radek Prikryl.

“We are glad that we can cooperate with 3D Content Hub and believe that their high quality 3D and 4K content will significantly enrich our service, offering extraordinary viewing experience to our growing number of UHD and 3D smart TV owners”, said Prikryl, member of board of Topfun Media.

“It is our pleasure to cooperate with 3D Content Hub. Their high quality 3D and 4K content will significantly enrich our selection of high quality Banaxi content”, said Jan Patrick, director of Banaxi Limited.

Watch out for 3DGuy Productions most terrific 3Ds and some of our first 4Ks at Topfun!
