Samsung announced an entire line of curved TVs that will go up for sale this year, including a 105-inch model, according to a press conference held at the Consumer Electronics Show Monday. The company repeatedly referred to the TVs as producing a 3D-like effect without the need for glasses, and it also displayed an experimental model that can flex from a flat display to a curved one.
Companies like LG and Samsung have touted their curved models as providing more realistic or immersive viewing experiences that are “free of image distortion.”
This year, Samsung is trotting out a new reference feature, asserting that a curved display feels like “a 3D effect without the glasses,” according to Joe Stinziano, executive vice president of Samsung America.
