Glasses free 3-D TV is the nirvana that everyone has been waiting for. That event may be here or at least on the near future horizon.
Ultra-D has been impressing many people with it’s Glasses Free 3D TV. I just received this press release about what they will be up to at CES this year.

With a 96% “want to see” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, there is much anticipation for the January 10 theatrical debut of the new 3D film: The Legend of Hercules. After seeing a demo of Stream TV’s Ultra-D™ 4K glasses-free 3D technology, the distribution team at Millennium Films was wowed and asked Stream TV to help them showcase an Ultra-D glasses-free 3D version of the movie trailer at the American Film Market. See the stunning result for yourself, only at the Ultra-D press conference (Jan. 8 at 2 pm, Venetian Hotel, Marcella Ballroom 4503) or on display in Stream TV’s booth (Central Hall – 14032) throughout the Winter Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas January 7-10.

You’ll also find Ultra-D glasses-free 3D screens on display in the WCES booths of Stream TV brand partners Haier (Central Hall – 10939) and Konka (Central Hall – 7904), demonstrating that this new standard for entertainment viewing continues to gain momentum.

Ultra-D screens are also currently on display at the Natural History Museum in London as part of an exhibit celebrating the January 1 BSkyB broadcast debut of David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D. After reviewing and stringently testing competing glasses-free 3D technologies on the market and in development, BSkyB chose Stream TV’s Ultra-D 2160p displays for the first public showcase of the trailer in glasses-free 3D. Produced by a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning team, the film was shot by the same 3D team behind the recent blockbuster Gravity, with spectacular visual effects produced by a team whose combined credits include work on the successful Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings franchises.

“We are excited to promote Sir David Attenborough’s new project and are thrilled that Sky selected Ultra-D. It’s a great validation of what we have worked to achieve,” said Stream TV CEO Mathu Rajan. “Museum visitors are experiencing brilliant 3D footage created by Atlantic Productions without having to wear glasses, immersing them into the natural world of the past in a way that has not been possible until the advent of our Ultra-D glasses-free 3D screens.”
