The iPad is everywhere. It seems to be ready to take over the world. Almost everything that you wanna do can be done on your iPad. And now with the iPad 3 having a retina (HD) screen and improved 5 mega pixel camera, the new Avid Studio gives you the ability to edit like a pro. True you can’t import from your full HD camera but we have a lot of fun using our built-in camera on our iPad and a fantastically fun little application called the Action Movie FX.
What Action Movie allows you to do is to create your own scene of mass destruction. You can bomb, blow up, shoot and drop heavy iron balls or cars onto whomever you like without inflicting any pain of injury. By the way if there’s anyone at the office that is annoying you, this app is great way to relieve a little stress and have some fun!
With that in mind, I handed off my iPad to two of my assistants, Georgi and Nick. I gave them my idea and asked them to create a short video using these two iPad apps.
Nick Thaveesakvilai describes how the project came together.
“It took us about 30 minutes to come up with a short video, a minute and 30 seconds.”
“First we took shots with iPad camera and then we added effects through Action Movie FX. Now that we had the footages we opened up Avid Studio on iPad and we edited the footages taken earlier.”
“In Avid, similarly to the computer to the computer version, there is a timeline, a viewer and bins for footages. We made a few cuts and we finished editing quickly using Avid. After we finished editing, we found the sound effects library and made a few tweaks adding the sound effects to our masterpiece.”
“The application is very simple to use. Even those with no editing experience will be able to adapt easily to this application. We had fun playing with it.”
