SCOTTeVest Cotton Hoodie Review
I am a self-professed gadget geek. I love testing out new stuff. Tech toys are the most fun. The other thing that I do on a very regular basis is travel. Being based primarily out of Bangkok, I travel all over Asia and back to home base in the US on a regular schedule. But the story really starts with a phone call at 3 am. As I reached for my mobile to find out who didn’t know, they were calling me at this ungodly hour. My froggy hello was returned by an exuberant boyfriend of my daughter. He giddily asked me for permission to marry my daughter. What, who, my daughter? Wait, I was coming to life now. After living together for fourteen years, they had finally decided to tie the knot. Hold on, do you hear the pitter patter of baby feet in the distance, naw, the noise was a wailing cat outside. Yes, of course, I muttered. It’s about time you made her an honest woman ( I think that I was channeling my Dad).
Ok, I know you’re asking, What does this have to do with the SCOTTeVest cotton hoodie? Simple, the wedding was to be in San Francisco at the historic City Hall. The same place that Joe DiMaggio married Marilyn Monroe. My daughter loves romances.
Because of the relatively short notice, I would fly China Eastern and get a chance to test out my SCOTTeVest cotton hoodie. My plan went into action.
The hoodie is a super soft, comfortable jacket that is custom fit to me via the in-depth questions asked on the website. The result was a beautifully tailored jacket.

I may not be Sherlock, But there was certainly plenty that I could fit into the ten pockets.
Passport, my small travel bag that contains, eye shade, ear plugs, lip balm, hand cream, airplane socks, toothbrush and toothpaste and comb. Next, I added my Ricoh Theta S VR Camera for snapping my 360 selfies. Then there is my iPhone, (unfortunately, my iPad mini doesn’t fit in this one, for that, you need the 13 pocket Knowmatic Hoodie.)my passport, ear buds, wired up and through the jacket to the hood, travel medicine bag, two USB power chargers to recharge my iPhone and Ricoh Theta S 360 VR camera. Everything that I need that normally would have to go in my already overcrowded camera backpack or my computer bag. It fit before but with SCOTTeVest I had less weighing down my arms and an easier time getting to my seat without having to stop in the aisle to get my stuff out, while the onslaught of Chinese tourists were trying to cram their way past me to get to that precious overhead bin space.
The trip took me from Bangkok to Shanghai with a three-hour layover. Again the SCOTTeVest proved it’s worth keeping all my necessities in hands reach thus avoiding putting down bags and zipping and unzipping and the general calamity that normally ensues in a busy airport terminal.
Arriving in San Francisco, the city by the bay, I was greeted with beautiful sunshine. A somewhat unusual event for this time of year. I decided that the weather gods were blessing my daughter’s nuptials. But of course, even in the sun, the offshore wind can add a spicy chill to the air.
Walking along the wharf area, I found the hoodie to be the perfect accomplice. Now, I was in shoot mode, filming VR with my 3D designed and printed VR rig with 6 Xiaomi cameras. I’ll be writing about this concoction soon. The SCOTTeVest took on the mantle of grip. I packed in the USB 7 outlet base and USB external power chargers, my Samsung android smartphone for controlling all of the 6 Xiaomi Cameras on the VR Rig, lens cleaning kit, and sunglasses. The built in rib knit cuffs kept my wrists protected from the chill and the handwarmer pockets were a perfect fit.
The wedding went off without a hitch and was shot in VR by yours truly. Although my daughter nixed the idea of me wearing the hoodie as I walked her down the aisle no matter how much I protested how practical it would be. If I only had the SCOTTeVest Sports Coat, I may have persevered.
The trip was a total success, and I managed to fit in a half dozen meetings with VR companies in the Bay area.
Flying back with my SCOTTeVest convinced me that this is one travel accessory that I would take on every trip. I give it a full 5-star rating. Next, I think I should try out the Cargo Pants!
