Pico recently released the Pico Neo 3 in China. I’ve got the exclusive details of that headset and what is coming to the USA with the Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Pro EYE. In the video above, I’m going to update some of the information and clarify other points that we made in the first video. Pico is based in China and has done an amazing job of creating an extremely high-end competitive VR headset.

Pico Neo 3 Headset Adjustment Details

First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for tuning into my first video for the unboxing of the Pico neo 3. Your comments and questions have been fantastic, and I can see that the interest is very high about this new offering from Pico.

Pico is based in China and has done an amazing job of creating an extremely high-end competitive VR headset.

Their business is firmly planted with one foot In the western markets, including the US and Europe, and the other in the Asian market where Pico is one of the main players in Asia and especially a dominant player in China. The first Pico neo 3 headset that was sent to me is the Asian version. This gives me a tremendous advantage to show you what this new headset can do and to clarify the differences between the Asian headset and the one that will be released to the US.

The Pico Neo 3 Asian Version VR Headset

This version is simply called the Pico neo 3. In the third quarter of 2021, Pico will release two additional versions designed for business use, in other words, the enterprise market. These headsets will offer additional features for business and will be designated as Pro models of the Neo 3.
Here’s a look at what the Pico neo 3 pro and neo 3 pro I will look like. Now let’s talk about what the differences are between these headsets.

All the headsets will be driven by the Snapdragon XR2 processor.
They will all have a single 90Hz, 5.5″ display, with a resolution of 3664 x 1920, so you’re getting an individual per-eye resolution of 1832 by 1920.
The Horizontal FoV will be 98° with adjustable IPD settings at 58mm, 63.5mm, and 69mm.
They will all be Wi-Fi 6 capable.
In the Asian version, there is a healthy 128GB of space for loading Apps, Games, and sideloading videos.
Unlike previous headsets, there is no microSD card slot on the Asian version of the Neo 3 consumer VR headset. This helps keep the Neo 3 smaller and more lightweight.
I really like the new controllers. They have a very natural feel and are solid and well-built.
ALL the Neo 3 headsets are only available in white. They will all have the battery located in the back, which makes wearing them much more balanced and comfortable.
the Pico Neo 3 Pro Eye will feature Tobii Eye-tracking and include 6 DoF inside-out tracking with a 10m x 10m play space.
The Pico Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Pro Eye will feature 256GB of space for internal memory.

Another difference between the Asian Pico Neo 3 and the US/European version is the head strap. The Asian version comes with an adjustable flex strap that cinches tight by grabbing the straps on the sides and pulling them to tighten to a comfortable, snug grip
The Pico Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Pro Eye will features the same type of durable hard plastic with an adjustment knob in the back, much like the Excellent system that is on the Neo 2 and Neo 2 Eye.
I believe that this is the most comfortable head strap in the industry, and I’m very happy to see Pico keep it for the Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Pro Eye.

In addition, please note that you will be able to play Steam games and apps via the Desktop Assistant
There is no support for the Viveport Store for any of the headsets at this time.
As soon as I can get more information about the Pico Neo 3 Pro or Neo 3 Pro Eye, I’ll be reporting on them, so please subscribe to my channel and hit that notification bell so that you’ll be among the first to hear all the news. As always, if you have questions, please leave them in the comment section, and I will get back to you.
